MBDS is looking for a skilled and dedicated Accounts Assistant to join their London studio. The Accounts Assistant will report to the Global Head of Finance and work closely with them to ensure the smooth running of the Finance department.
This individual will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be detail orientated and highly organised. The role will primarily be focused on the And Objects business, part of the MBDS Group, with some crossover into MBDS.
REPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Payable:
o Process supplier invoices, credit card expenditure, staff expenses and ensure they are processed on time and accurately coded on to the accounting system
o Reconciliation of supplier statements and ledgers and resolving any queries
o Generate weekly payment runs for review and process via online banking
o Posting of all payments to the accounting system
o Liaise with staff requiring purchasing information
Accounts Receivable:
o Raising client invoices once orders are confirmed on the accounting system
o Matching and posting of all client receipts to the accounting system
o Reconciliation of bank and POS payments (Shop and Website)
o Posting of stock journals to the accounting system
General:
o Managing the accounts email inbox
o Maintain filing of all paperwork – physical and electronic
o Dealing with and resolving queries
o Various Ad hoc projects and tasks
EXPERIENCE:
o Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role; retail/startup experience
o Interest in the creative industry - desirable
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
o Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel and Word.
o Proficient in Xero accounting software or other similar
o Understanding of multicurrency and foreign exchange
o AAT or equivalent qualification preferred but not required

MBDS’s sister company And Objects is looking for a skilled and dedicated Logistics & Procurement Admin Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days a week, ideally Tuesday to Thursday).
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organised, and thrives in a process-driven environment. This role involves managing order lists and logistics tasks to ensure smooth operations. As the position includes physical responsibilities, the candidate should be comfortable with tasks such as packing, carrying, moving boxes, and conducting stock takes.
REPONSIBILITIES:
Logistics:
o Obtaining freight quotes
o Arranging collections and deliveries
o Preparing shipping documentation
o Ensuring end deliveries are completed and recording proof of delivery
o Tracking client COMs at the studio/workshops
o Delivering COMs to workshops
o Physically packing accessories, diffusers, and lighting orders
o Shipping and fulfilling items directly from the studio
o Receiving deliveries at the studio
o Stock Takes
Procurement:
o Placing purchase orders with factories/workshops (noting that one sales order may involve multiple POs)
o Expediting orders to ensure timely completion
o Updating PO records with changes
Systems:
o Updating Shopify and 1st Dibs upon order completion
o Inventory management software admin
o Updating purchase and sales order statuses
o Recording delivery rates
o Uploading documentation (PODs / Inspection images / AWBs etc)
o Closing out records upon completion
EXPERIENCE:
o Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role

MBDS are looking for an Office Manager to join our New York studio.
The Office Managers main focus is to ensure the smooth running of the Studio including IT, Health & Safety, office maintenance, reception (managing the Receptionist) and general housekeeping. An extremely high level of attention to detail is essential for this role. The Office Manager reports directly to the COO on a weekly basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT/Electronics/Communications
o Managing the Studio IT (including support, maintenance and liaising with external IT company) o Managing all IT hardware & software, including laptops, iPads, TV, etc.
o Managing printers & copiers; ensuring day to day working
o Managing all communications related subscriptions (such as Zoom, GoTo Meeting and other)
o Cataloguing and maintaining accurate files of all IT and electronic items
o Setting up new starters as required and closing out leavers as required
Office Security/Emergencies/Health & Safety
o Overseeing the Studio H&S (including assessments, compliance and staff training)
o Performing Health & Safety induction for new starters
o Overseeing the Studio fire system (including extinguishers, compliance and staff training)
o Maintaining the Studio security systems and alarms
o Acting as the main point of contact for Studio key holder
o Managing all staff keys
o Ensuring all PPE is maintained and up-to-date
o Overseeing the Studio emergency and disaster recovery information
Budget
o Putting together an annual budget for all office items
o Working with the Financial Controller to manage the office budget throughout the year
Office contracts/Leases/Maintenance
o Overseeing the general Studio maintenance – walls, furniture, toilets, etc.
o Liaising with the Landlord, Electrician, Contractors, Handyman, Plumber etc. as needed
o Managing contracts – cleaners, water cooler supplier, phones, pest control, etc.
Reception
o Managing the Receptionist and their daily workload
o Managing the reception coverage (liaising with HR when temps are needed)
Housekeeping
o Ensuring the Studio areas are kept tidy on a daily basis (including all storage areas)
o Managing and ordering inventory supplies – stationary, bathroom and kitchen
o Ensuring all stationary, bathroom and kitchen stock is replenished throughout the day
General
o Liaising with the Office Manager in London to ensure the two studios are aligned
o Overseeing the opening/closing of the Studio in mornings/evenings
o Overseeing the monthly Studio cleaning
o Joining the weekly management meeting to update the team
o Overseeing the monthly staff drinks event
o Overseeing staff leaving/baby/anniversary gifts
o Providing coverage for Receptionist and PA as needed
o Liaising with all MBDS entities as needed (London, MBDS Holdings, And Objects, Art Consultancy etc.)
o Assisting with any ad hoc duties as requested

MBDS are looking for a talented Midweight Designer to join our London studio.
The position will offer the opportunity to work with in the studio’s team of designers to support the Senior Designers on multiple high end projects. The Designers are members of the Design Studio Team (DST) alongside the Associates, Senior Designers and Junior Designers. This team will carry out the works associated with MBDS’ service offering.
The Designer will be supporting the Team and will work in tandem with the other Designers in the Studio. This person will be fully immersed at all levels of the design process on a daily basis via their allocated projects, taking ownership and responsibility of their own workload while using their initiative and creative skills to solve problems and meet deadlines. An excellent understanding of all areas of furniture, product, interior architecture and design is a must. Further, an understanding of construction technology is imperative as well as knowledge of current building regulations. Since the position includes communication with client representatives and other project team consultants, a high level of verbal and written communication skills are a must.
A high-level of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is key. Additional computer programme skills would be an advantage, such as InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite. An engaging and diplomatic manner and clean and tidy appearance is expected.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design & Creative Management
o Support the development of the plans and elevations during the design concept development working with the Senior Designer and the Design Management Team (DMT).
o Understanding the client’s brief and senior staff’s vision for the project and implementing it into the concept design
o Support the development of the design concept working closely with the Senior Designer and the DMT. The task would include finding mood images for a particular design direction to establishing information about the specific site
o Support the efforts in establishing the materiality for projects. Suggesting appropriate materials and finishes, using the individuals experience / knowledge of different suppliers
o Review and suggest ironmongery and sanitary ware manufactures and their suitability for the project
o Support the efforts in maintaining MBDS’s Stylistic Design Standards
o Work closely with the Senior Designer and the Studio team in general on establishing libraries for mood images and materials
o Support presentation of ideas and concepts to the client and client representative.
o Communication with the DST on a daily basis
Design Project Management
o Understanding the project timelines and MBDS’s deliverables
o Support the Senior Designer with site visits and meetings with contractors, consultants and potentially clients
o Understand the contractual obligations between the designer, contractor and the client
o Represent MBDS to clients, contractors and suppliers
Design Documentation
o Taking responsibility for the production of all drawings for the project, including full construction, legal and planning drawing packages
o Assisting with the concept design and presentation by helping with image sourcing, 3D sketching and modelling, Photoshop editing and setting up/printing presentation boards and booklets
o Compiling and promptly issuing meeting minutes
o Understanding the projects Health & Safety procedures and ensuring the correct documentation is complete
Human Resources
o Mentoring junior members within the Team
o Supporting the general wellbeing of the team and its productivity
Studio Administration
o Communicate with AT (to include other members of the DMT and BMT if necessary) on any requirements related to the support tasks for the Studio (support tasks are noted as travel bookings, couriers, stationary, meeting scheduling, video conferencing organisation etc.)
o Provide holiday (or other) coverage for any other Designers
EXPERIENCE:
3-6 years of interior design experience and be experienced with running projects.
